NEW and NOTEWORTHY:
Kendra Gahagan '93, Producer of "Swim Lessons"...
Sunday, 10/25 - 4 pm.

PCW's Kendra Gahagan '93 appears at a showing of her latest
film (with Dir. Alex Houston), "Swim Lessons" (in Baltimore).
Baltimore Women's Film Festival - 2009.

FILM - CAPSULE SUMMARY:
Growing up, Nick Irons helplessly watched his father's decline
due to multiple sclerosis (MS), an incurable nerve disease.
At 22, Nick flew home after being away for a year. His dad
met him at the airport, using a cane for the first time. On the
return flight Nick saw the Mississippi River from 30,000 feet
and thought, "I will swim that. For my dad."

Based on his award-winning book, and using his brother Andy's
home movies, 'Swim Lessons' is an intimate, inspirational, and
funny film about a son's love for his dad, and the apathy, and
kindness, of strangers.  After a million strokes swimming from
Minneapolis, MN, Nick steps ashore in Baton Rouge on his
father's birthday and says, "Happy birthday dad. I did this for you."
