Please join the Association of Black Princeton Alumni (ABPA), Queer Princeton Alumni (QPA), and the Princeton Club of Washington on Friday, June 19, 5:30 PM-7:30 PM ET, in Washington, DC, for our inaugural Freedom in Full Color celebration. Celebrate with us during this cocktail gathering as we come together to honor the legacies of Juneteenth and Pride Month over soul food, red velvet cupcakes, and watermelon daquiris.
At the event, we will be welcoming one of our newest alumni, Daniel Yu, valedictorian of the Class of 2026, who majored in African American Studies (AAS) on the Race and Public Policy track. Staff members from the Gender + Sexuality Resources Center (GSRC) will also be in attendance to recruit participants for the LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project, with in-depth interviews to be scheduled at a later date this summer. Founded in 2017, the Princeton LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project has worked to capture the life stories of LGBTQIA+ Princeton alumni, staff, and faculty. The GSRC has created this digital exhibit to amplify the voices in our archive and bring them to the community in dynamic ways.
A minimum donation of $10 is requested, with all proceeds benefiting student initiatives. Event location will be provided upon registration. Registration link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/freedom-in-full-color-tickets-1991294056126
