Volunteer Opportunity: Be an Instructor for a Senior Learning Center
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University is seeking lecturers for its Fall 2026 session. OLLI offers hundreds of classes to hundreds of individuals over the age of 50 each year. Courses run the full gamut of university fare—literature, history, economics, science, art, music. OLLI does not limit itself to college professors. Rather, its instructors are drawn from all professions and walks of life. They speak on topics that they are passionate about and would love to share with enthusiastic and curious seniors. Recent courses have included “The Fall of France” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”.
I am hoping that members of the Princeton Club will consider teaching a course at OLLI in the Fall 2026 session, which will run from September 21st through November 13th. You will have a great deal of flexibility. Courses may range from a single session to up to eight sessions, with each session lasting 1 hour and 25 minutes. You may teach in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format. As a nonprofit, though, OLLI is unable to provide financial compensation to you, but our instructors are consistently rewarded by the sincere gratitude and enthusiasm of OLLI’s members.
Please consider becoming an OLLI instructor. Princetonians have a lot to offer! For more information, please visit olli.gmu.edu, or contact Carol Hiller ’75 at prli75@aol.com. A course proposal form is also available at olli.gmu.edu/olli-course-proposal-form.
Thanks very much.
