The National United Methodist Church is located at 3401 Nebraska Avenue, NW at the intersection of Nebraska and New Mexico Avenues, NW, near American University. The nearest WMATA Metro stop is Tenleytown on the Red Line (about a 22 minute walk). There is also ample, free parking at the church.
Activities for the daySing Out for Shelter 2025 begins at 7:30pm, and PCW volunteers will be helping Friendship Place staff with event preparation. They ask that volunteers arrive at the venue by 6 PM to get familiar with the venue and receive any necessary training on ticket sales and other responsibilities. Activities may include: helping at the ticket box office; working as ushers; assisting the event manager; ensuring the event hall is clean and organized; welcoming concert attendees; and passing out info. Volunteers are welcome to stay and watch the concert as audience members for free.

Additional informationFor more than twenty-five years, a cappella singers have joined together to help DC's homeless. The Sing Out for Shelter ("SOS") concert, organized by DC’s own Augmented 8, has brought together the best of contemporary a cappella singing and raised more than $400,000 to help the homeless in the DC area. Proceeds from this event will go to Friendship PlaceChrist House, and the National United Methodist Church Food Ministry, local providers of housing and aid services for people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in the Washington DC region.
