Community Service Event: Volunteer with PCW at the Innovation Studio + Store of the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington (https://mocaarlington.org/), where we'll assist staff at their "MoCA on the Move" event, as part of Amazon Community Day.
When: Saturday, June 22. Full event is 8 AM - 1:30 PM. Volunteers are welcome to help out during the full event, in the AM shift with set-up and event work, or in the early afternoon with event work and clean up.
Where: MoCA's Innovation Studio + Store, 525 14th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202 near Met Park (note that this is not their museum location on Wilson Blvd.)
Transportation & Parking: The Innovation Studio + Store is 0.5mi (10 min. walk) from the Pentagon City Metro Station. Parking garages are located in the Amazon buildings; 525 14th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202 and 510 14th Street South, Arlington, VA 22202. Entrances to the garages are on South Elm Street and 13th Street. Garage parking is free for the first three hours on Saturdays and Sundays, and then regular rates apply. Metered street parking is available on surrounding roads including on S. Elm Street, 15th Street South, and S. Eads Street.
Activities for the day: MoCA is a nonprofit contemporary visual arts center established in 1974 and is one of the largest non-federal venues for contemporary art in the Washington metropolitan area. They maintain a new retail and event space in the National Landing/Crystal City area, the Innovation Studio + Store. This studio is hosting free community events on Saturday, June 22 as part of Amazon's Community Day in Met Park. Volunteers will be able to support MoCA with event set-up logistics at their public bar area (a watercolor paint & sip station); their outdoor patio area (sculpting clay mushrooms); and Innovation Studio (art carts & easels) -- throughout the day or an AM or PM shift.

John will be submitting our PCW volunteer list to the event organizers. Additionally, he will contact our volunteer group prior to the event with final logistics, as well as serve as our on-site coordinator for June 22.
