Meet our Community Service Chair!

I moved to the Washington, DC (DMV) area in March 2013 after graduating in 2011 with a degree in History and teaching elementary school in Boston. In addition to wanting to keep in touch with all my great classmates and fellow alumni in the DMV area, all the great events (volunteering and otherwise) that PCW organizes really intrigued me. In 2022, I resolved to become more involved in alumni events in general, and I kicked this off by spearheading a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 'Day of Service' event with local alumni in January 2023.

I now serve as the Community Service chair, and I'm eager to help lead these efforts. My community service priorities include making sure local alumni stay "in the nation's service and the service of humanity." I want to promote, organize, and coordinate community service opportunities all local alumni can participate in, and I'd love to explore the causes local alumni are passionate about.

In my professional career, I’ve worked with a number of PreK-12 and higher education policy nonprofit organizations. In my current role at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), I serve as an Associate Program Officer for the Board on Higher Education and Workforce (BHEW), in the Policy and Global Affairs division.
