WWS Graduate Alumni: Please join us for a "Prospect-style" dinner with Zach Vertin (MPP 2013), author of the new book "A Rope from the Sky: The Making and Unmaking of the World's Newest State."
For WWS Graduate Alumni:
Please join us for a “Prospect-style” dinner discussion with Zach Vertin(MPP 2013),author of the new book: A Rope from the Sky: The Making and Unmaking of the World’s Newest State. The format will be similar to dinners the school hosted for students at Prospect House, in which a small group engages in an interactive discussion about a policy topic. Drawing on his years in Sudan as a diplomat foreign policy analyst, and negotiator, Zach’s character-driven narrative chronicles the outsize role the United States played in forging a nation in South Sudan—from euphoric birth to heart wrenching collapse. Zach is currently a Fellow at the Brookings Institution’s Doha Center and Foreign Policy program, and lectures on international affairs at Princeton’s WWS. He previously served in the Obama Administration as Adviser to the U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, and as a Senior Analyst for the International Crisis Group. Zach divides his time between Qatar and Washington, D.C.
