PCW Smithsonian Saturdays: Dumbarton Oaks

This event is sold out!

PCW's Smithsonian Saturdays returns for the New Year on January 5th with a guided tour of the Dumbarton Oaks gallery. The Director of Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection, Prof. Jan Ziolkowski, will be showing us Dumbarton's current temporary exhibit, Juggling Through the Middle Ages, which explores how the Middle Ages fashioned modern European and American identities through architecture, art, music, and other media, through the prism of the famous rediscovered medieval tale Our Lady's Tumbler.

This is a unique opportunity to see one of DC's best museums with one of its faculty. Prof. Ziolkowski has written a six-volume work paired with the exhibit--more information is available here. Space is limited to the first 15 people who sign up.

The tour begins at 11:00 am. We will meet in the museum lobby at 10:50 am.

Date: Saturday, January 5th

Time: 11:00 am

Location: Dumbarton Oaks, 1703 32nd St NW, Washington DC (Georgetown)

Cost: Free for PCW members, $5 for non-members
