Book Debut and Reading: Bianca Bosker's "Cork Dork"

Bianca Bosker '08 presents her new book, "Cork Dork"

Please join Princeton Women's Network for the Cork Dork book debut and reading by Princeton alumna Bianca Bosker '08.

As Bianca explains, "Cork Dork is the sort of wine book that hasn't existed -- it pulls back the curtain on parts of the wine world that have never before been explored, and dives into them with humor, science, and zero B.S."  Cork Dork follows Bianca's immersion in the wine industry after quitting her job as the executive tech editor at The Huffington Post, working her way up from a lowly "cellar rat" to sommelier.  It is a wine-fueled adventure that takes the reader inside elite tasting groups, Michelin-starred restaurants, mass-market wine "factories," and even neuroscientists' labs.  Cork Dork probes why wine inspires the fervor it does and the rewards of living a more flavorful life.  It's been described as "the Kitchen Confidential of wine," and has received early praise from, among others, Walter Isaacson, Mary Roach, and Susan Orlean, who called it "smartly and sharply observed ... a marvelous journey through the mad, manic, seductive subculture of wine and wine lovers."

Bianca kicks off her book tour here in DC on Tuesday, March 28 but will be back in the area on April 19 in Alexandria, VA.  Details for both events are below.  Please RSVP and we look forward to seeing you there as we support a fellow Tiger!
