Twists of Fate: A Book Talk feat. Dr. Vanessa Tyson '98 and Rick Klein '98

Join Princeton alumni Dr. Vanessa Tyson '98 and ABC Journalist Rick Klein '98 as they discuss her new book Twists of Fate: Multiracial Coalitions and Minority Representation in the US House of Representatives on Monday, October 17th.

Princeton alumni Dr. Vanessa Tyson '98 and ABC Journalist Rick Klein '98 will discuss her new book Twists of Fate: Multiracial Coalitions and Minority Representation in the US House of Representatives on Monday, October 17th at Busboys and Poets (2021 14th Street, NW).


In Twists of Fate Dr. Tyson: 

  • Provides a theoretical framework for analyzing federal legislative behavior of those from, and representing, racial minority groups
  • Explores the strategies that members from and representing minority communities develop to best serve their constituents
  • Offers in-depth accounts from 47 members of the House that illuminate the inner workings of the peoples' chamber

Mr. Klein will interview Dr. Tyson and then take questions from the audience; a book signing will follow. This event is cosponsored by the Princeton Club of Washington and the Washington, DC chapter of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.
