Emerging Leaders Application

Emerging Leaders is an affordable, high-quality professional development program that equips individuals working in the nonprofit and public sectors with the management training, self-assessment, and confidence to accelerate their careers.

Princeton AlumniCorps is now accepting applications for our Emerging Leaders professional development program.

Emerging Leaders is an affordable, high-quality professional development program that equips individuals working in the nonprofit and public sectors with the management training, self-assessment, and confidence to accelerate their careers and boost their professional contributions. Princeton AlumniCorps runs the program, connecting a diverse cohort of participants with the organization's mature network of social change leaders and advisers. Emerging Leaders interact with a range of top-level executives and broaden their sector-wide knowledge through sessions facilitated by a highly trained executive coach.

Programs are offered in New York and Washington, DC and they run for a total of eight full-day, monthly sessions from June 2014 to February 2015 (skipping August).

  • Alumni from any college or university who meet the application criteria are welcome to apply between January 15 and March 15, 2014.
  • Participants must have 2-8 years of total full-time work experience, including at least one in the nonprofit or public sector. They must also be currently employed in the nonprofit or public sector and have some degree of management responsibilities, including supervising staff, vendors or volunteers and/or leading projects where they coordinate and oversee the work of others.
  • The application fee is $30. (The application fee is waived for alumni of the Princeton Project 55 Fellowship Program). Princeton AlumniCorps underwrites the majority of the cost for Emerging Leaders with a participation fee of $750. Employers can choose to cover the cost. (Similar professional development programs have a value of up to $5,000 per participant.)
  • In the interest of building a diverse cohort, please note that we generally accept only one applicant from an organization into the program and never accept more than two applicants per organization into the program; we seek to manage expectations accordingly.
