PCW Speaker Series: Eisenhower in War and Peace - w/ distinguished historian Jean Edward Smith

Called “one of America’s greatest biographers of political and military leaders,” Professor Smith will discuss his much acclaimed 2012 biography of Eisenhower.

PCW Speaker Series: “Eisenhower in War and Peace,” an evening with distinguished historian Jean Edward Smith.

Jean Edward Smith has been a most prodigious biographer. His other most recent publications include a biography of FDR, for which he won the 2008 Francis Parkman Prize, and one on Grant, for which he was a finalist for a 2002 Pulitzer Prize.

He spent most of his academic career as professor of political economy at Toronto University. Last year he returned to his hometown of Washington, DC as the Distinguished Research Associate of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. He is Princeton Class of “54.

An excellent public speaker and sharp raconteur, this evening with Jean Edward Smith promises to be as enjoyable as it will be educational.
