ALUMNI, TAKE NOTE -- Jessica Nickel '98 garners award as the "Volunteer of the Year" for the Princeton Club of Washington in a special regional ceremony held annually by Interfaith Works in Bethesda, MD. JESSICA's COMMUNITY SERVICE TEAM DRAWS PRAISE for 10-YEAR-OLD INITIATIVE launched by her on behalf of the Princeton Club of Washington. Congratulations to all those supporting Jessica's team. Please consider joining this fine team and supporting the project in 2010. Interfaithworks is a 13-year-old coalition of non-profit service groups in Montgomery Maryland. The group is now led by Executive Director Rebecca Wagner, and the group serves 35,000 low-income families and children in Montgomery County, Maryland. At a Friday, March 12 ceremony, the group recognized Jessica Nickel '98, PCW's Community Service Chair, and her team for leading our Adopt-a-Family program during the past decade. Jessica's project works with Friends in Action, and provides food and clothing for that group's many clients throughout the year -- but especially at Thanksgiving and the holiday season in December.
Each year, Jessica's team raises $2000 or more in funding for low-income programs, feeds around 50 families and clothes over 70 children. it's a truly heroic effort that deserves our congratulations. Our partner group at Interfaith Works is Friends in Action, led by Ms. Monica Barberis-Young. Attending the ceremony were Jessica Nickel '98 and husband David Nickel '99, Joyce Rechtschaffen '75 (Princeton's Director of Government Affairs in DC), and Lee Dudka *77, Princeton Club President. Ms. Monica Barberis-Young, Executive Director of Friends in Action (pictured above) presented the award to Jessica and PCW. Interested in joining Jessica's award-winning team?
