PWN-DC Community Service Project

Join PWN-DC in supporting Doorways for Women and Families

Princeton Women of DC,

Princeton Women's Network of DC (PWN-DC) is excited to announce that it is launching its annual community service project, now in its second year! PWN-DC is once again partnering with Doorways for Women and Families, a Northern Virginia-based non-profit creating pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault for women and their families

The Princeton Women's Network of DC is hosting a drive for Doorways’ most urgently needed items, including bedding, toiletries, clothing, and cleaning supplies. These items are all available for purchase via Amazon.

You can purchase items from the Doorways Amazon wishlist using your Amazon account, and let us know what you bought by filling out our spreadsheet - find the item and fill in your name and the date of purchase.  Please make all purchases by December 15, 2017.

Step by Step Instructions:

1. Please review the list of Urgently Needed Items on the spreadsheet link above. Identify what you will be purchasing and put your name (you may say Anonymous if you would prefer not to note your name) and date of purchase on the spreadsheet.  You do not need to save the spreadsheet.  It will automatically save the doc for you.
2. Now, you can go onto Doorways' Amazon wishlist page at the link above
3. When you have selected your items, add them to your Cart and click on "Proceed to Checkout." If you do not have an Amazon account, you will be prompted to create one.
4. For shipping address, select "Doorways for Women and Families' Gift Registry Address". We encourage you to mention the Princeton Women's Network in your gift note!
5. When you are ready to pay, Amazon may ask you to re-enter your credit card info since you are shipping to someone other than yourself.  This is just a precaution that Amazon’s website does to make sure your shipping recipient is your intended recipient.
6. You are all done!

Key things to note:

1. For the excel spreadsheet, once you mark what you have purchased, you don’t need to save the doc as it automatically saves

2. When you purchase off Amazon, be sure to mark that the shipping address should be the Doorways address which will be an option in your list of proposed shipping options.  Otherwise, it might accidentally be shipped to you!

3. When you are ready to pay, Amazon will likely ask you to re-enter your credit card info since you are shipping to someone other than yourself.  This is just a precaution that Amazon’s website wants to make sure Doorways is your intended recipient.

If you have any questions about the spreadsheet or Amazon wishlist, please contact Veronica Floyd, Development Associate, Doorways for Women and Families at 703-504-9293 or at vfloyd@doorwaysva.org.  You can also find this project on Facebook by clicking here.
